In celebration of Islip Arts Council's 50th Anniversary this year, AARP asked individuals aged 50 and over to create artwork that celebrates their favorite decade - the 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's or 10's. This nostalgic ride through time made for a fun and exciting exhibition.
To further immerse participants in the throwback moment, the band "Troubadour Revival" appeared at the opening reception. They performed a tribute show that paid homage to the music of the 60's/70's/80's. Attendees enjoyed the timeless melodies and unforgettable vibes that defined these generations.
Artists were also encouraged to dress to match the decade of their work for the reception.
